What a start to 2020, with so many major news events happening already this year it is hard to believe we are well into March already! In these unprecedented times, it is important to maintain a positive mindset and to look out for each other.
This edition will be kept fairly brief. I have some very important information regarding Sunnybank Hills Podiatry’s current approach to appointments and the evolving situation surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as well as some tips to help Reduce Running Related Injuries.
I have kept myself busy with attending continuing education events. In February had a fantastic day attending a Running Related Injury workshop hosted by Brad Beer, who is a well regarded Sports Physiotherapist from the Gold Coast. It is always reassuring to see great collaborations being formed across different Allied Health Disciplines. I have made plans to spend some time with Brad in his Clinic to share some assessment and treatment protocols.
Also in February this year, I had attended an Athletic Footwear Masterclass, hosted by Simon Bartold. Simon is a world-renowned Podiatrist who has spent many decades consulting to some of the top brands in Sports Footwear. Simon shared his knowledge and experience in the development of footwear technologies and also gave an insight into where we are heading with the design in the manufacture of Athletic Footwear in the coming years. It is certainly a case of watch this space.
